Let’s all admit it, sometimes we overwear our favourite items of clothing & they lose that fresh, clean smell. Even just the fact that your shirts have been hanging in a dark dusty closet means they could probably use some refreshing. Easy DIY to the recuuueeee! 🕺
TOOLS & INGREDIENTS:
If you're using a large bottle like I did, triple the recipe. Halve the recipe if you’re using a small bottle! The reason we're using dark-colored glass is so that the essential oils keep their quality in tact. EOs are corrosive and can eat through plastic and light will damage the essential oils.
You can use whichever essential oils you like depending on how you want your fabric to smell! I used lavender, lemon, peppermint, and rosemary. You definitely don’t have to use as many as I did 😛 If you want to have a couple different scents for different moods you can divide the recipe into 2 bottles :) My current fav EO brand is Rocky Mountain Oils. They're more expensive because the quality is extremely high. While this isn't always necessary, you definitely get effects equivalent to what you pay for! ;)
One more thing to note, is that I prefer using witch hazel over white vinegar because I found the scent of vinegar to be slightly too strong. But vinegar is HELLA cheaper, so it’s up to you my friend!
To a glass (preferably something with a spout) or just straight into your spray bottle, add a ½ C of water.
WITCH HAZEL / VINEGAR
Add a ¼ C of witch hazel or vinegar.
Add 10 drops of the essential oil of your choice, divided to preference if using more than one scent.
Pour it all into your spray bottle and make sure to shake it up before spraying!
Label it so you don't forget what it is and spray away!!
Now you can walk past people in that favourite shirt of yours with confidence 😜
